Our forum just got spammed, badly. What is weird is that the user is "Anonymous" even though the Anonymous Visitors permission set does not allow new posts. Any idea what I might have messed up there? Where do you indicate what permission set anonymous users use, assuming that isn't the default?
Also, where do I access mass delete? I see it as an option under forum moderator permissions, but I cannot figure out how to access it in the interface.

Hi Rackrs,
I hope your very well. I'm sincerely sorry to hear of the trouble. We are always trying to combat spam and have a number of major improvements scheduled for the next major update to further help in this area. It's hard to stop the most persistent spammers however we have several ideas already in development to improve things.
It's odd how the user is shown as anonymous. You can link a specific permission set to the anonymous member group from the Admin CP > Member Groups page. All users who are not logged in belong to the anonymous member group and will use the permission set linked to this member group.
I think my first question would be which version of InstantForum.NET are you using? You can see this in the footer of all the pages or within the footer of the admin control panel. Also are you able to share your URL. Either here or email me directly on ryan@instantasp.co.uk
With regards to mass delete you would need to ensure your a moderator for the forum to see the check boxes alongside posts. You can add your user account as a moderator from the Admin CP > Manage Moderators > Add Moderator page as shown here...
http://docs.instantasp.co.uk/InstantForum/managingmoderators.html
You can also do this from the Manage Forums page by selecting the Add New Moderator option within the drop down list to the right of the forum. You'll need to type in your Username and select Yes for all moderation options.
To quickly ensure you have full moderator control over all forums you may wish to select all forums in the list when adding or editing a moderator from within the Admin CP. You can hold CTRL / CMD or SHIFT to select multiple forums. Then set all moderation options. When viewing the forums now you should see check boxes alongside posts to delete posts.
My Suggestion...
Also another good way to quickly ban, delete and remove all posts from a problem user is to use the Ban Options Menu on the user profile pages. You can see this below...

The limitation of this method (which we'll soon be addressing) is to see this button you will need to belong to the Administrators member group. Moderators can not delete members.
Also if the user is shown as an anonymous user obviously they don't have a profile page so oyu would need to manually delete each post within the forum.
Please let me know if your able to provide your URL and we'll certainly take a closer look at your permissions etc. If your able to send your admin login details please don't hesitate to respond to me directly on ryan@instantasp.co.uk
Kindest Regards,
