I'm curious how many Member Groups can be created before the system starts to notice a degredation in performance. Anyone have any metrics on this?

How many do you have/need? Seems like you could make a script to add a whole lot of them and then test it out.

Don't have exact numbers, but it could very well end up in the thousands. I just want to make sure the system can deal with it without puking. I could certainly do my own level of testing by creating a number of them by default (as you mentioned), but it wouldn't answer how it might work under load... Good idea on the test though, would at least answer the "can it handle it well for a single request" question.
