Your website (http://www.instantasp.co.uk/Products/Documentation/Default.aspx ) states that for InstantKB "Installation instructions and class reference documentation are provided within the product download."

I purchased the InstantKB product, unzipped and read the "InstantKB.NET ReadMe.txt" file. I connected to the remote server, ran the 2 SQL scripts, I modified the database connection string in the "InstantKB.config" file, and it states that "Once you have completed the installation wizard and set-up the database either via the installer or manually you should now see an empty knowledge base framework. A browser instance will have been launched during installation along with this readme.txt document."

I have not located the "installation wizard", which executable is that?

The only executable file I found was "Install.Helper.exe" and it states that it is a tool to assist with the installation, but that’s it.

You documentation states "For step by step installation instructions and information on each web.config application settings please refer to..."

http://www.instantasp.co.uk/products/instantkb/installation.aspx

That webpage does not exist.

I have also submitted a ticket regarding this in your online forum ticketing system.

I know I must have missed something, I see many people are using this product but I can't seem to get it installed.  Please assist.

Oops.  I didn't realize you had to download both of the files seperately.  I thought it was a choice to download either the ZIP format or the MSI format.  I didn't see anywhere posted that you need both.  I feel like a goober.

Hey Goober!

Its actually one or the other as I recall. If you have access to the server then you can run the MSI but for those in a hosted environment that dont have access to run programs, they can dl the .zip file and do a manual installation.

Great! Thanks.  I was starting to think I missed something with the MSI file.  I downloaded it, and since I am in a hosted environment, even the MSI install didn't help my situation any.

I went through the manual install and, after finding something on these forums, set the InstantKB folder to be an application folder.  I feel like I'm stepping through the problem but don't know where to go from here.

I get a Server Error in "InstantKB13" Application. - Runtime error, but since I'm on a remote machine I don't get a more detailed error message.

Is there a setup/installation document somewhere with detailed HOW TO steps in a hosted environment?

You see the InstantKB.NET Read Me.txt that's located in the root of the application folder.

As from my initial post:  I purchased the InstantKB product, unzipped and read the "InstantKB.NET ReadMe.txt" file.

There is no setup wizard if you download the ZIP file, even though the instructions assume you there is.

So I went back and downloaded the MSI piece thinking I had missed some part of the installation, but it is only for use if you have direct access to the IIS server.  I later found after browsing the forums that I needed to set the InstantKB folder to be an "application"... I did so and am now getting ambiguous errors because I am accessing it remotely.

Your documentation states "For step by step installation instructions and information on each web.config application settings please refer to..."

http://www.instantasp.co.uk/products/instantkb/installation.aspx That webpage does not exist.  It defaults to an aspx error path.
