This is the first notification i recieved:
The extrasformovies.com web application consumes too much memory, reducing availability of resources for the rest of the shared server. The site uses in excess of 160 mb of physical memory, which is not appropriate for a shared server. A log file has been placed in the /log folder called extrasformovies_FileMon_06132006.log which displays the most commonly called files over the course of time when the site was seen using large ammounts of memory.

AFTER CALLING MY HOST, THIS IS THE INFORMATION I GATHERED THAT APPEARS TO BE THE PROBLEM: I AM NOT DEVELOPER SAVVY AND NEED TO KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO CORRECT THIS ASAP BEFORE THEY SHUT DOWN MY WEB SITE. MY FORUM IS GROWING AND HAS BECOME AN IMPORTANT PART OF MY WEB SITE WITH OVER 600 MEMBERS SOME WHO ARE PAYING FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE AND BELOW IS THE RESPONSE TO THE ISOLATED PROBLEM...

RESPONSE:

It looks like the forum may be to blame for this issue. I isolated the forum into its own application pool and have been roaming around on it for about an hour. Since I started, the forum application pool has consumed 81MB of physical memory.

I also received a report back from the server operations team about my queury for more information. They also believe that the .Net portion of the site (both the forum and the blog) is the cause of this problem. The leak appears to be very slow.

From reading through the support forum on the fourm vendor's site (instantasp.co.uk), it appears that v4.1.3 suffers from an array of performance related issues from high CPU use under moderate load to a huge memory foot print when more than 5 to 10 concurent users are browsing a forum. These issues look like they have been solved in a soon to be released update, version 4.1.4. But no one on the forum has any idea when this version will actually become available. The instantasp.co.uk developers looks like they frequently post in this forum, but are not commenting on the 4.1.4 release date.
