Hi,

I searched the forum but didn't return any results for this.

I want to pad out the topics & forums on our message board so that they're not so close together - so that they look rather like the ones on this board, in fact - but I can't easily find where to edit these values. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Narkus

p.s: Carlos, thanks for you help with my Terms & Conditions issue: I think I've isolated the problem now.

Hi Narkus,

Sorry for any delay. Hope your well.

There is no global settings to adjust cell padding or spacing. You would need to do this manually within each control within each skin. You could use Visual Studio.NET to perform a global find and replace for the CellPadding property on the tables within the various skin user controls. You could also modify the CSS elements to include padding but this may require more work than a simple find and replace.

You mention you would like your forum to having the spacing more like on this forum? Are you using v3.4? We increased the cell padding with v4.x to 8 from around 6 in v3.4. The skin you see here is provided with v4.x so if your using v4.x it should look similar to this skin without the header and footer of course.

I look forward to your response

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for your reply. We're currently using v4.1.3. I shall have a bit of a hunt through the control files and the CSS styles to see if I can find the variable I need. Do you have any pointers as to what I should be looking for? I don't have Visual Studio.NET unfortunately...

Thanks,

Narkus

Hi Narkus,

Many thanks for your response. If you could perform a global find and replace within the skin directory and search for CellPadding="9" then replace with what you need say CellPadding="12". This should update all the cell padding attributes within the various user controls to ensure you have more padding within table cells.

The  CellPadding="9" attribute appears in nearly all user controls that make up a skin. For this reason a global find and replace would probably be the easiest solution. You could also modify the various CSS elements to include a padding attribute but this is considerable more work.

I hope this helps a little,

a
