When clicking the "Login" link a page error is generated stating the following...

------------------
Line 1
Char 1
Error: Object Expected
Code 0
URL: http://www.mywebsite.com/InstantForum/
------------------

If I click on another link (I.E. Members) and have not logged in the login page is displayed OK.  Any ideas?

This problem affects many links in this latest update - it affects all of the links if you click on a user and view their profile, it also affects links on the Recent Posts and Popular Topics menu. The login link is the most serious, however. The script error is the same as shown above, and it occurs under both 1.1 and 2.0 in RC1.

I'm curious to know what this is, as I cannot duplicate the problem?  Actually, my website is currently LIVE with 4.1.4 RC1 and I don't have this symptom.

Bare, congrats on going live with the candidate release.

Have you noticed any significant change in performance?

A couple questions about this symptom:

1. Are your 4.1.4 forums a fresh install -or- a updated forum (from previous version).

2. Does this symptom appear on a fresh install

3. If the forum is updated from a previous version, what files did you replace with the 4.1.4 files.  I replaced just about all of them, as there were considerable changes from 4.1.2 to 4.1.4 (including all the "skin" files).  There is a "Javascript" folder & all those files should be replaced.

Just needed more info... Thanks

As far as performance goes... It is a bad time for me to make a judgement, as I have been having performance issues with my Web Hosted plan for the last few weeks.  It's driving me nuts.

Either another site on my shared server is a resource hog... or the database server is overloaded.  I've been talking to them, so hopefully they will be nice to me.  When I feel my environment is worthy of making a performance judgement... I'll definitely post it here

1) Updated from 4.13 snd the two 4.14 betas, it is a live site

2) I have not tried it on a fresh install

3) I replaced everything with the updated 4.14 files.

I have the same script problem, and it is becoming an issue - I am getting reports from users who cannot log in.

Bump - this is becoming a problem for my forums, as users get a script error when clicking the login link (or any link that uses __doPostBack). Any thoughts? Upgraded install - this did not happen in the previous build.

Hi All,

Sry for my delay. To resolve this problem using the RC1 release please disable Page Compression. This can be found within the admin area under General Settungs / Optimization Settings / Compress Response Stream - Ensure this is set to No for the moment. This issue has been addressed for final which i'm expecting any day.

Many thanks once again to you all for your feedback

Kindest Regards,
