Hello Ryan,
i have tryed to install the new Forum but the Setup says that a webserver is required. Problem: I have allready install IIS :-)
The Inetpub is on a other Drive than c: Maybe thats the reason!

| Its Mark Christianson (in case this thing puts me as anonymous again) I have my websites on another drive and it worked just fine... make sure you can create and access a website using http://localhost or http://[machinename] to ensure you're all set before the install. Hey Ryan... any reason you just dont offer two download types (install and zip)? I dont know if its a license issue or what but it just seems like in a few cases (myself included) if you had to restore a file you accidentily messed up.. you'd have to install the whole smear again.

http://localhost is working. http://[machinename] don´t work.
Maybe it is a reason that IE is not my default browser?

RenéHi René, Did you manage to resolve this problem? If not could you let me know your OS and IIS version so i can replicate locally. Also could you provide a screen grab of the error message so i can at which stage this appears during installation. Many thanks for assisting with RC1 testing

Hi Mark, Why are you anonymous? Is this a bug? With regards to a seperate zipped version this will be available with the v4.0 final from within My.InstantASP. I'll certainly ensure i provide a seperate zipped version for the next upload.

| Hi René, Many thanks for the information. I'll try to replicate this problem and confirm. Would a zipped version of the files be helpful?

| I had the same problem, solved by creating a (empty) c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ folder. I was still able to set the application installed to d:\inetpub\wwwroot.
