Nice suggesting with regards to the default drop down list text.
We may want to be able to set some permissions on a Forum, that specifies, for example, the maximum size of an attachment, so that if the Test Forum Epi-X were configured to allow a 4 megabyte attachment, but a user of the "State EPI" Member Group had the ability to post 8 megabyte attachments in general, that this member would be overridden by the Forum permissions and thus only be able to post a 4 meg attachment.
This is certainly supported using permission sets.

You'll need to duplicate your State EPI member group permission set, call this say "State EPI 4mb limit", then set the attachment size to 4mb for this permission set. Then for the forum you wish to impose the limit for the "State EPI" group click the "Edit Permissions" option. Then associate the State EPI 4mb limit permission set to the "State EPI" group specifically for the forum and click save.

You can find more information with regards to permissions within the v4.0 documentation @...
http://downloads.instantasp.co.uk/40documentation.zip

Hope this helps, please don't hesitate to respond with any questions :)

RE: There are no forums to edit at this level ?????

Ryan,

I just created a forum called "Test Forum Epi-X", and I see now that to Edit this particular Forumn, I go to the drop down list. This was confusing for us. Perhaps some labels or column headings could be added to give context to what those drop down boxes are. Or, at least have a "Select an Action:" default value instead of a -.

I think what I saw inside it may have answered another question:

We may want to be able to set some permissions on a Forum, that specifies, for example, the maximum size of an attachment, so that if the Test Forum Epi-X were configured to allow a 4 megabyte attachment, but a user of the "State EPI" Member Group had the ability to post 8 megabyte attachments in general, that this member would be overridden by the Forum permissions and thus only be able to post a 4 meg attachment.

Thanks!
Josh

RE: There are no forums to edit at this level ?????
UV2003 (5/23/2005)
I am seeing this problem in the demo site as well. I've checked the online demo and everything appears to be working correctly. Looking forward to your comments :)

RE: There are no forums to edit at this level ?????

I am seeing this problem in the demo site as well.
