Posting doesn't work in IE8

There's a Javascript error and the form says "! Required". Also, this post-page looks broken in FF on Windows 7. I don't know if it's the same on Vista, et al.

Topic Subscriptions Page

As an administrator, I subscribe by default to threads I post in so that I can monitor the site. However I end up with lots of subscriptions in my Topic Subscriptions Page.

I was trying to manage my subscriptions (> 600) and the last checkbox at the bottom, in line with the drop down that says "unsubscribe" and it doesn't do anything. Manually checking all subscriptions is very time consuming and annoying. Is there something broken here?

I'm trying to set up forum on subdomain. Local copy works fine on IIS7, but when moved to IIS6 x64 plftform, i get this error: Could not load type 'InstantASP.Common.UI.Base.Page'

At the other way [url]http://forum.autonet.ru[/url] works fine. It's the old build (.NET 2003) version.

What is wrong?

Strange email problem

It's a funny one. I have set up anything correctly, I also tried any other possible settings (my domain, localhost, ip, 127.0.0.1 as smtp host, with and without authentification, html and text ...) but I can't get it working.

The problem is automated emails (account verification, new pm notification) will not be send. The error counter increments and the mail gets discarded after 3 tries. But if I send an email using the send email function of a user profile, this mail will arrive...

I receive an exception if I try to approve a message or post from a guest. Well the post gets approved so we can ignore this, but for me it seems to be a "feature" :)

Can't Access Admin CP

Local Installation - new install (version 4.1.4)

Get the following error when trying to get to Admin CP using the admin@admin.com login:

This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.

Have to hate this product when you can't even get this far in the installation without trouble.....

Strange problem with IFCode

I have not made any changes and for whatever reason when I choose to change the size of text i get the actual verbose output versus the size change... if I manually edit the ifcode that's presented in the editor to include quotations, it works fine.... is there something I can do to [size=4]fix[/size] this issue?

Login, Register and Recent Posts hyper links on home page fail with error on page IF 4.1.4

These links on our Instant Forum worked fine until we had a HD failure. On rebuilding our system these hyperlinks fail with "Error on page" and the event log error shown below and you are not taken to the login page. However if you select a forum or article and select reply or add, you will be taken to the login page where you can successfully login.

We have a customer getting the following error from IF 4.1 when some users reply to forum posts:

The full error message follows. If anyone has any idea what might be causing this we would love to know!

As I said, it's only happening for some users. We have IF integrated with some other system. Users are created in IF from a student system. I suspect that these users have something funcky in their profile, but... maybe not.

Really struggling, you can configure permissions in so many places it's starting to fry my brain...

Only Moderators can create a new topic.
Forum Members can post replies to topics (but not create their own topics).
Replies are moderated (including edited replies).

Javascript popups, i.e. Recent Posts

I'm doing some major restructuring of my site and getting the forums to fit into the new structure has been quite a bit of work. My current stumbling block is the little popups you get with more options, i.e. the "Recent Posts" link near the top-right of the indexes.

In IE7 it's fine, but in FF3, it positions at the bottom of the page, and on this site, it positions it top-left. At first I thought it was something I had done with my new layout (could still be, any ideas?), but seeing it here as w

New posts in forums - email notifications not working

My server is working fine to send emails from the forums. I am using 4.1.3 -
I get email messages when someone messages me a private email within the forum membership.
However, what i need, is when someone posts a new topic, or a reply to the different subjects and threads that have been created, i need to be informed that a new topic / thread / reply has been posted. i would also like to be informed of a new member that has joined.

Application exception with DataPagingRowCount

Hi All - I am getting a strange problem with my forums where an exception is being thrown when you click on certain forum topics but not others. The exception is Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I have a few members who post fishing reports on my forum and they would like to be able to link to their reports on my forum so they can keep them in one place and don't need to have a dynamic website. I sure don't mind them doing it but how can they do it?

Since the searches are using sessions, they can't really find a good link that will give them what they want.

If there a link that would take a visitor to a page that showed all the users post?

Setting up SMTP email without having an SMTP server

I am working on a GoDaddy.com shared hosting account and they do not give access to the SMTP server. How can I set up SMTP to work if I have no server to reference?
What I do now with my .net application is I set up credentials through Gmail.

How to integrate Instant Forum and Instant KB into one singe users base

Is there any ready step by step solution to integrate both Instant products: Forum and KB? We have purchased both and we would like to use them without being necessary to register our users twice in both applications.

The first my attempt was to install Forum and KB into one same MSSQL database, but I realized that the tables structures are different in Forum and KB and most stored procedures can't work this way.

Duplicate post notification emails

Hi,

I am running InstantForum version 4.1.

Users that have subscribed to forums have been intermittently receiving duplicate notification emails. In some cases up to 8 emails have been receieved by the user.

The emails have varied timestamps, typically spanning around a 5 minute period.

I have noticed a few posts referring to possibly similar problems on these forums, but unfortunately no solutions or analysis of the problem.

Link addresses incorrect in the admin navigation panel

I have just installed the forum app and am starting to go through and update the admin stuff etc.
I'm noticing that in the admin navigation panel that some links have a 0 or 1 added to the end of the URL, whereas the files they are supposed to go to don't have those ones or zeroes.
Am I supposed to go through these on a case by case basis and change the filename?
How can I change the navigation links so that they are correct?

- Is single signon integration possible with ASP.NET membership sites? I see a lot of old chatter about that, but nothing that conclusively says one way or the other.
- Does InstantForum.NET support integration with an ASP.NET MVC site?
- Oh, and just for kicks... does InstantForum.NET support an editor with bullets?

Is there any way that I can change how the page title is displayed by appending whatever text I want? For example, I have a forum called "Actors". I want to append the text " Community Forum" so it will end up "Actors Community Forum".
Any advice would be appreciated.

Is this normal? - I can't find the setting to turn it off....
