I'm having problems installing from the MSI. I run the regular setup and enter my SQL information and click next.  I receive the following page:

The wizard was interrupted before Instant Forum.Net v4.1.4 Developer License could be completely installed.

Your system has not been modified.  To complete installation at another time, please run setup again.

Click Finish to exit the wizard

I'm a domain admin and didn't have this problem installing 4.1.3.  Also.. what's the easiest way to upgrade the forums... since i have 4.1.3 on one server and i was going to upgrade that and install a clean 4.1.4 on another server for testing. Is there a document on best practices on upgrading the forum software?

Any help would be very appreciated.  I'm frustrated on the matter.

Just a followup bump since no-ones answered.

On a local machine i had no problem installing and configuring 4.1.4. The issue i'm having is with Server 2003 and the install. When i click install.. it's NOT finding any of the sql servers.  This server already has 4.1.3 installed on it.

Any help?

Hi Mr Goonie,

Sorry to hear your having problems. If it's not listing your SQL server when you click the browse support from within the MSI i would simply skip this step and create your database manually. To skip creating the database during installation simply level the server name box blank. Then once installation via the MSI is complete create your database.

First create a database to hold the various tables and stored procedures. Then login to query analyzer and with your database selected execute the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\InstantForum414\DatabaseScripts\InstantForum414.sql script to create the tables and stored procedures within your database.

You may then need to update the connection string within the web.config to point to your database.

You can find more information about this in the Manual Installation section of our documentation at http://docs.instantasp.co.uk/instantforum/creatingyourdatabase.html

I hope this helps.
