Hi All,

Last night we updated the InstantForum.NET v4.1.4 downloads within your My.InstantASP client area. The updates resolve a few very minor problems that have been reported since the release of v4.1.4.

As the updates are very minor we've not rolled this into a point release and have opted to simply update our existing v4.1.4 release. I've provided a list below of the issues addressed with this minor update and the files you will need to replace to resolve the problem.

Most of the issues can be resolved by simply replacing the .DLL files however the SSL warning with the spell checker will require a file replace.

Fixes

- Results from InstantASP activation server where only cached for 24 hours not 48 hours

Replace InstantASP.Common.DLL & InstantASP.Licensing.DLL with latest versions

- Warning about insecure items with spell checker dialog when running under SSL connection

Replace Skins\[SKINNAME]\Dialogs\SpellCheck.aspx, Add Skins\[SKINNAME]\Dialogs\Blank.htm

- Image tags were not removed even though this was set in a permission set

Replace InstantASP.InstantForum.dll

- Search engine bots would generate lots of exceptions related to RSS feeds

Replace InstantASP.InstantForum.dll & InstantASP.InstantForum.UI.dll

- Exception module not showing correct exception (in some cases) in medium trust on .NET v2.0.

Replace InstantASP.Common.dll

Updates

We've also added an optional new web.config application setting which will allow clients to use SMTP servers that require SSL connections such as smtp.gmail.com. If your using a SSL connection for your SMTP server you will need to ensure the setting is true as shown below. This will be moved to the admin area along with other email settings with v4.1.5.

<!-- If your SMTP Server requires a SSL connection change this setting to True -->
<add key="InstantASP_EnableSSLForSMTPServer" value="True"/>

This setting is optional and can be removed or left blank if your SMTP server does not require a SSL connection.

That's it

If anyone has any questions or concerns don't hesitate to respond in this topic or open a support ticket. The issues we've addressed are minor and you may wish to update only if your experiencing any of these problems.

Thanks as always to everyone for your feedback

Kindest Regards,
