I have a forum which is setup and is beginning to be used. However the confirmation emails are not being sent. Or if they are sent, are sent randomly and unpredicatably.

I checked the queue and there were 6 emails there waiting to be sent. After playing around with my SMTP server, ensuring that was working, and with the email settings, they randomly sent some minutes later.

I have since tried to send another email, and this email has now been waiting in the queue for  upwards of 10 minutes.

It is obviously important to the operation of the forum that these emails get sent promptly, otherwise it's not possible for users to activate their accounts and begin using the forums.

Incidentally, I am using IIS as my SMTP server.

Any help or incite would be appreciated.

Robert

I've been without emails for MONTHS.  Mine queue up and NEVER get sent out...   no matter if I restart IIS or touch the web.config or whatever.  I've replaced a .dll they sent me for a temporary fix and that hasn't helped either.  Each day, I have about 250 emails in queue that I just delete.

It would be nice if this got fixed soon.

Did you tried switching from "Html" to "Plain text" for the message format ?

Carl.

EMAIL FIXED

FYI:  Carlos ended up helping me get this fixed.  He did some .dll/web.config action and now the emails work.

Thanks Carlos!

I ran into the same issue. I simply modified the Admin page that controls Queued Messages, adding a "Send Now" button, and called the proper method directly.
