Is it possible to include the username of the user viewing the page into a post, i.e.

If you want to join our clan then click here:
http://mysite.com/newuser.aspx?username=[username]

so that if for example I read the post it would say

If you want to join our clan then click here:
http://mysite.com/newuser.aspx?username=Spedley

It would allow other user generated sites to easly validate logins so that they can provide related services and widen the community

It's certainly possible, but would require a developer liscence and the development proficiency to make the customisations neccesary, it certainly isnt supported natively.

That is a shame, it would be a very powerful feature although it may have potential privacy issues.
