My apologies for just vanishing a while back there. I ended up not dropping my project at the time, and didn't ever get around to trying to convert from Snitz. I'm back working on it again though... and InstantForum still seems to be the best forum software out there. Anyway, sorry I vanished and left you hanging.

Hello Ryan, Just reading through this thread. I too use Snitz v 3.4.03 actually. DB is in Access. I'm evaluating a couple of products, this being one. I was excited to hear that you've potentially access to a conversion script. This is critical to the choice that I make. Basically we have around 3000 members, 200000 current posts (+250,000 archived). I'm wanting to, if possible, convert the members, passwords, and maybe current posts. Archives not important. Has this script come to fruition as yet. Appreciate your time. Libosis

I have and I helped write a basic script that transferred about 3000 users from a Snitz site that was up since June of 2000... I made the leap last December. The script is around someplace and there is plenty of help should you need it but the only issue I think might be your ACCESS db.. the script is a .sql server script and it could mean that we may have an extra layer of fun to get you up and running. Currently the script isnt going to be worked on much due to the new release coming soon of IF (v 3.5) which will bring into the mix some new database changes that could really effect the script's performance... Id rather hang out and wait for the new version before working hard on a conversion... Once 3.5 is out I think serious time will be devoted to conversion scripts and I will endeavor to put a little time into it myself in order to help.

Thank you for your timely response Mark. Appreciate it. Is there a release date for 3.5? I just have to work out a few things. Cheers Libosis

| What's the current status on this? I have a large snitz board that I'd like to convert. I just realized this should be in the 4.0/4.1 forum and not 3.4.
