When I post a new topic, and I say "Immediate notification...." for the subscription, I would think it should remember that...

meaning...

if someone posts a reply to my topic, I get the email....but then if I post a reply again, I have to reselect "Immediate notification..."... why is this?

Thanks!

I have requested this as well! It would be GREAT to have it where users can set their default subscription levels in their profiles because most of my members want to be notified on every post! As it is now, they have to remember to take the extra step and subscribe every time they post!

Come on Ryan and James!!!! This is a must have!!!!

Default subscription level:

A: None
B: To Topics I created
c: To Topics I replied to.
D: To Topics I posted and/or replied to.

Subscription Preference:

A:
B:
C:

You get the idea....

Come on, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldnt say it's a "must have" there are few more priority 1's above that over in the bug reports forum, however, this is a very good suggestion, we have noted the input from this thread and it'll be reviewed when we spec out the next lot of new feature additions, although at present im in no position to say whether it will be in the very next version or a later one.

Let's take this a step further. I want to subscribe to an entire forum and have this setup in a per user profile. No mater who posts a message th that particular forum, I want to receive e-mail notification so I am prompted to go to the forums and look at the new thread that has been created. If there is little activity on the forum, you get out of the habit of checking and eventually the interest in the forum diminishes. This puts the forums "in your face" and encourages greater usage.

That would be even better! The ability to choose which categories you want instant notification on! This would be PERFECT for my site because I have several categories that are off topic and it would be nice to be able to have your default notification setting per category set up somewhere. Some users might choose All categories and some might just choose the ones that they are interested in.

Having to remember to set this on EVERY post is something that most forum users are not use to having to do. Most forums allow you to subscribe to every post you create or reply to or to not subscribe to them based on your settings in your profile. This forum doesn't offer it and it kind of sucks. The user must do it on a per post bases and there is no default level set in the profile, it just reverts to "Do Not Subscribe".
