| I installed the forum last Thursday, and since then the forum has been up and down. To date, no one has responded to the support ticket I submitted (24/11) nor to any personal PMs I have sent through this forum. I expect at least an acknowledgement of the support ticket, even if no one has time to work it. Here is the error I am receiving: Could not find file 'c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\Pages.config'. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
Exception Details: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\Pages.config'.
Source Error:
An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below. |

| Im sorry your ticket has not been acknowledged, and I will endeavour to find out why it has not been so, I assure you we have been looking into your issue, this error seems to usually be related to customers running the forum in a subdirectory which is not configured as an IIS application and not correctly setting their virtual subdirectory path in the web.config file which should not have leading or trailing slashes. If these do not resolve your issue, please email Support@InstantASP.co.uk, as there is no certaintly as to how long your forum post will sit here, these are community forums, which we do dip into and try to assist wherever possible, but on busy days we do not have time to read the forum all the time, likewise with direct PM's (of which i've not received any from you incidentally), the best channels of support are certainly the ticketing system or the support email address, both of which we make every effort to turn around as quickly as possible. As I say, i'm very sorry that your ticket was not acknowledged but it has been escalated for investigation and has been/is being looked at, I assure you I will be following up on why it was not acknowledged by the first line representative that reviewed it, thankyou for the feedback, and hopefully we can resolve your issue as quickly as possible.
 Kindest Regards,

Thank you James. I realize everyone is busy with the site update and upcoming release of the new KB product. Sorry for posting the error here, but I wasn't getting a response any other way.

| I'm still having problems with this, and my trouble ticket is still open, with little response. I did receive a message on 27/11 saying that someone would work the ticket ASAP - that was almost two weeks ago, and I've gotten no response from anyone since. I expect that the time I've spent waiting for an initial response to my issue will be credited back to me.

Hi Robert, You received the response on the 27/11, and since then your issue has been under investigation, as you were advised, your ticket was acknowledged as having been escalated, both in the forums, and in the ticket, I made some suggestions in my forum post here, did you try these fixes? We've assumed so, and carried on looking for a solution (Those provided have fixed nearly every occurence of this issue) I've now updated your ticket with a request for information that we require, in order to further assist you.Once again, I would ask, if you dont feel your ticket is receiving attention (which again, I assure you it is, under investigation doesnt mean we've parked it or are not reviewing it, it means we're working to resolve the issue) then do please email support -at- instantasp.co.uk or myself on james -at- instantasp.co.uk, the problem with this issue, is we cannot replicate it, we cannot create a situation that forces this error to occur, the information we've requested from you may enable us to do so, but any other technical information you can offer, as to when and how this error occurs, or any unique configurations in your environment setup, will enable us to expedite a solution. I apologise that your ticket has received no further response to date, but this remains because we're still searching for a solution, to a problem we cant quite recreate. As soon as new information on your issue is available, we will repost to the ticket, I'd like to reiterate that you're welcome to email anytime to find out whats happening with your issue, or get a status update.
 Kindest Regards,
James Trott Developer

| Hey roteague, Did you ever find a fix for this Pages.config issue? We're having the same problem. Support from InstantASP has been, let's say, dissappointing. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with a search bot hitting some page somewhere and triggering some sort of melt-down with the url redirection. I haven't spent the time to completely investigate, but I will because I'm getting extremely frustrated/tired of having to baby-sit this software.

Oddly, I'm getting this problem now on a staging site of ours, i.e. not live but a test site. The web.config is configured to know the forums are in a sub-folder of the website and the Pages.config file has appropriate file-access permissions. Sometimes an iisreset cures this, but this is not ideal.
