Almost forgot about this one.

While its really fast and easy to sign up... the registration doesnt confirm you so if I get some crazed imbecile he can just keep signing up for accounts.

How about going to the sign up.. and the account is in a hold. An email is generated with a link that the user gets and clicks and this opens his/her account.

This way nobody is signing up as POTUS@whitehouse.gov and I get yelled at for spamming the white house email server.

Hi Mark,

Quite understand. Thank you for the suggestion. This has been in the pipeline for sometime but i doubt this will make 3.1. This will certainly be included ASAP but i'll provide a option with the web.config to enable / disable this feature.

I plan to create a pre-auth group within the default installation that users will be assigned then they are pending moderation. They will not be allowed to post until they are within the Members group

Make sense ?

Absolutely, in a future release you should also build a reminder admin button that would send an email reminder to all the pending registrations that have not completed in x days.

Also a simple delete all pending older than x days (to clear out the garbage when the non desireables go and add a bad email address)

Hi Mark,

Great suggestions - wish i had 48 hours in everyday. Please bear with me with your suggestions they are all on the list but they will take a little time. I'll certainly respond to each of your suggestions as and when they are in place - hopefully soon as they are very nice features
