| Noticed the following issue happening on our forum this morning (I know these were working yesterday during the day as used all of them): Environment: InstantForum 4.1.4 Windows Server 2003 SP2 Latest patches applied last night Server has been rebooted Have restarted forum site and its application pool Issue 1: When go to our forum http://forum.ayanova.com and select Login in upper left hand corner, in the bottom left hand corner on the webpage it says "Error on page" If I double-click that to see the details, it says
Line: 1 Char: 1 Error: Object expected Code: 0 URL: http://forum.ayanova.com/Default.aspx Note if I view an existing message, and select reply, it brings up the Login fields so that I can log in - but that's not something that regular users may think to do Issue 2: When go to our forum http://forum.ayanova.com and select Register in upper left hand corner, in the bottom left hand corner on the webpage it says "Error on page" If I double-click that to see the details, it says Line: 1 Char: 1 Error: Object expected Code: 0 URL: http://forum.ayanova.com/Default.aspx Issue 3: If select Recent Posts -> and click either Posts Added Today, Posts since my last visit, or Posts from last week, in the bottom left hand corner on the webpage it says "Error on page" If I double-click that to see the details, it says
Line: 1 Char: 1 Error: Object expected Code: 0 URL: http://forum.ayanova.com/Default.aspx Note this occurs whether logged in or not Issue 4: If select Popular topics -> and click either Hot Topics or Rated Topics, in the bottom left hand corner on the webpage it says "Error on page" If I double-click that to see the details, it says Line: 1 Char: 1 Error: Object expected Code: 0 URL: http://forum.ayanova.com/Default.aspx Note this occurs whether logged in or not
I have checked the Event Viewer on this system, no errors or warnings show. All other actions via this forum show no issues, and behave as normal. Please provide a solution to fix, or suggestions on what to troubleshoot as this is quite huge as my forum users can not log in or register to use.

Hi Joyce, We're aware of this issue, caused by a recent microsoft update, to alleviate the problem go into the following:Admin CP -> Manage Settings -> Optimization Settings and disable the option "Compress Response Stream", this is due to a change in the way microsoft parses javascript code since the update, we'll be working on a solution to this moving forward, but on modern hosting setups the response stream bennefit is moderate at best. Also, please be aware, that we only work weekdays and regular hours, as such, try not to expect rapid responses on the weekend, especially over a bank holiday period, we do try to check in for important queries such as this, but our response time can be a slower, regardless however, this should alleviate your issue.
 Kindest Regards,

| Thank you James for your quick reply, especially with there having been a bank holiday. I did as stated and those links are now working. Thank you again!!!!! I was getting induated with people contacting us because they could not log on. Just a heads up - Do note that your forum appears to not be sending out notification of topics such as http://community.instantasp.co.uk/Topic11091-59-3.aspx - as I had subscribed to this topic but it did not notify when you had replied - I was just going to do a search again to see if there was any other topics related from anyone else, but saw your reply. It may be that your forum is now experiencing the issue that a lot of us have - whereby the email does not get sent out and the Who's On list backs up. - Joyce

We're doing some work on our internal mailing system, some notifications may be affected in the interim, we're aware of why that may happen.
