Whats hot on a board with 20 people (maybe 5 posts) isnt necessarily hot on a board with 3000 (25 posts) so one thing that I'd say is build in the ability for the admin config to set how many posts in a thread = hot
I know we're getting into the minutia but to me thats actually a sign of a solid app. If you are hitting smaller and smaller items then its like clean up work.
Lot of potential on this forum to be a major leader out there.
PS. If you need more hours in the day, email me, Ive got daylight when you don't and would happy work out a dev deal with you if it might help.
Hi Mark,
Your quite right - this is indeed the level of detail i really do want with the application. I'm planning to do some work on many more settings within the web.config over Christmas and also create a page to edit the settings within the web.config. I do aim to make every aspect of the forums configureable from the config file and will be starting work on this the moment i'm 190% sure of the stability of the next 3.1 release. I've been adding error checking and optimizing routines so i really need a week or two solid testing and fixing then release then work on the suggestions you and other have presented
Regarding the dev offer i'll certainly contact you via email very soon. Thank you for the kind words regarding the forums
