Hi:

I am doing some preliminary features testing before demoing InstantForum for our end-users.  They want TIGHT control over who can post what, so all forums are to be moderated.  The moderation/approval process is working great, but I just noticed that once a post is approved by a moderator, it can be edited (by the original poster only) WITHOUT any approvals required for the edits.  Is there something we haven't set correctly, or is this the way it works?

Thanks!

Hi Hillary,

At the moment this is how the forums work. I realise this is not ideal and i do plan to add another approval process for users editing posts after they have been approved. For the moment you could disable the editing feature is this is an option. Please let me know and i'll direct you to the lines of code for that button. This is a simple change and i will certainly do my best to help

I look forward to your response,

Kindest Regards,

Ryan:

We are ready to proceed.  I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide instructions for disabling the edit button after a post is approved by a moderator (unless of course, this has been addressed by some type of fix).  If you would prefer to attack this via e-mail, you can reach me at HJanikula@onelambda.com.  Looking forward to your reply...

Hi Hillary,

Thank you for your post. This has not yet been addressed as i would like to correct this with another level of moderation for edited posts. I will also need to make this optional as some users don't require this feature. This is not a problem.

I'm very pleased your ready to proceed. I would certainly be happy to provide assistance via email or instant messenger with a view to disabling the editing feature for the moment. As mentioned in my previous post this is a very simple modification and i'm sure i could instruct you upon how to accomplish this within half an hour. I hope this sounds reasonable. I look forward to your response and hope we can work together soon
