I prefer to stay with my current provider (Planet.nl) and use their hosting service. However they only offer MS Access 2000.

I have heard (phpBB) that this database is not really suitable for forums with several users online at the same time, I also expect that the forum will grow a lot in time (we have experience with MSN Groups). I expect no more 10-20 user online at the same time...

Should I better look for an other hosting service, offering MySQL or SQL Server?

Please tell me, I don't have any experience on this subject...

Hi Red,

Thank you for your post. At present the forums only support Microsoft SQL Server as a database. They will not work in MySQL because MySQL will not support stored procedures and these are required for all data access.

If your expecting a busy site i would certainly suggest moving away from MS Access. MySQL will handle heavy traffic very well however as above the forums will not work with MySQL.

I can certainly suggest some hosting companies who can use our applications if this would be of assistance

I look forward to your response,

Kindest Regards,
