I very much liked your forums. i think it is much superior to the Microsoft's ASP.Net forum.

Before I finally buy your product, I had a very important question:

I am using a Portal framework to build my ASP.Net website (ex. DotNetNuke, Open-Point, IBUYSpy Portal etc.)

In my website, I want one of the modules to be InstantASP forums. Is your product designed to seamlessly integrate with these portal apps?

Thanks

Sunil

Thanks

Sunil

Hi Sunjil,

Thank you for your post and kind words.

The forums will require some modifications to fit within IBS or DDN as a module however i know this is certainly possible. To be honest i've not had much time (as you can imagine) to investigate DDN or IBS in great detail. I do plan to add demonstrations soon showing integration into popular frameworks however i cannot provide a ETA at this time. I would be very happy to assist with integration as i'm sure i would also learn during the process. I'm sure it will be simple as the application is well designed i just need the time at the moment to setup demos and look into this further

Kindest Regards,

Ryan,

Are there any new developments in this area, we use DotNetNuke for our intranet and we're interested in integrating your products with it.

Thanks

Dear Scott,

Many thanks for your post. Both the present version of InstantForum (3.4) and the upcoming version (4.0) are capable of being integrated with DNN by a knowledgeable programmer. What will come after the release of 4.0 are some guides on how to do so. However, if you are comfortable with .NET programming, I would be happy to help you with questions about InstantForum that would assist you in integrating it with DNN.

As for the release of version 4.0, we expect it to be ready during the first quarter of this year.

Carlos,

What would Instant ASP charge to create DNN Modules for both products?

Thanks

Carlos,

We are also trying to integrate InstantForum (3.4) into a DNN app. I am familiar with writing custom modules for DNN. What do I need to do to integrate the Forum with DNN?

Thanks,
Joe

This is an important concern for me as well. DNN 3.0.11 is just here so this will affect my buying decision. Has anyone done any integration at all?

Is there any news about integration with DotNetNuke (DNN)? There's a dearth of KB modules, and the ones that try to be, are horrible.

I have 2 sites that need a true KB, both are running on DNN 3. I think somebody asked if this was possible, but I din't see a public reply.

Also, could I get a quote on how much it would cost to get InstantASP to create modules? I bet I can roust several people to a common pool to pay for this work. If worse comes to worse, I would like some sort of doc detailing how to do this integration work ourselves.

Yours is the best .NET KB I've seen, and the price range is perfect for the DNN crowd, microISV, and small business.

So as a rule you can recognize genuinely smart people by their ability to say things like "I don't know," "Maybe you're right," and "I don't understand x well enough."

Dear Hector,

Users have integrated InstantKB with dotNetNuke successfully without using the IFrame.  IFrames cause problems.  You can contact us via ticket system, http://my.instantasp.co.uk, directly if you have any questions or difficulties.
