Hi there I have installed InstantForum v3.4 onto my machine. I have setup the databases on my remote MS SQL server. I can run the forum from my local machine http://localhost/instantforum34/ succesfully, errr.. well ish, there are a couple of issues that I am having trouble understanding but any way, the reason I am posting this time is because I am having trouble opening the project in VS 2003. I open the project from web http://localhost/instantforum34 and the attached screen appears. I am guessing that it should look a little different to this, perhaps there should be some sort of layout here. Also I notice that there is a warning symbol on the InstantForumComponents reference. I am sure this is all simple, but I would wrather seek advise than try and fumble through myself. Thanks in advance for any help

That's great thanks Ryan that sorted out the creation of the solution, I can now run the forum from within VS, however.... when I open default.aspx in VS I still only see boxes indicating controls, not the actual layout of the form. Do I need a developer licence to do that?

Hi Brian, Hope your well. It sounds like your opening the aspx files within design mode. The aspx files simply contain references to the main user controls within the controls directory. The user controls all end with a ascx extension and live within the /controls/ directory. You will need to option these within VS.NET. You will then be presented with the various web forms. The application is designed to work in flow mode as opposed to grid mode. I would certainly suggest just editing the HTML as this offer much cleaner control than the VS.NET design mode. Indeed all the application was coded within HTML mode although each page was tested within design mode

Can you add me to the customer group (I just finished purchasing a developer version today) as well so that I may follow your link you posted. I have the same problem as listed above.
