There could be a lot of help needed here but here goes for my first request of help.

We are trying (in BETA test mode with mods only) to move our community over from ezboard to InstantASP but there are some features missing. I will detail messages already recieved from mods for your viewing and would appreciate any help possible.

First message

"one thing I liked on the other forum that seems to be missing on this one - is the 'new reply' bit on the forum, - that way I don't end up reading posts I've already read before - and yes I know you can set the other forum to only show new posts, but I like to remind myself occasionally what the thread and previous comments were all about"

Question, can this be done?

Second message

"All sounds good so far. One thing that is bugging already though is that were are now getting emails telling us that a message has been posted on this forum, and even though it has been autmaicially approved we still will be getting the email notification for every single post that goes onto this forum...when this does goe "live" we are looking at about 100 emails per day...is there anyway to turn off this email notification cos it will just clock up my inbox eventually!"

Question how can this be turned off.

More to follow me thinks but thanks for any help you can give.

This will be an area along with the read / unread posts feature we will be looking to improve within the remaining 3.x releases. This is a nice idea. I think maybe having to option to sort posts in desc date order when viewing a topic would also help with this. This will be added to the next release.

This can easily be disabled by editing 2 lines of code within the post.ascx.vb page and recompiling the code-behind. I would be happy to provide specific instructions and an example file if you require The methods are:

SendNewAutoApprovedPostAlertToForumModerators
SendPostAlertToForumModerators
