| I have a couple of questions about your forum software before I decide what I should go with. The company whose site this will be for had some questions and concerns. They want to have the ability to view messages from the last 24 hours, last 3 days, last 7 days, etc…I saw no option to edit a post. Is there a feature somewhere to let users change their post if they made a typo or want to change or delete it?Is there any archiving feature or do all messages just stay active? Are some of the features available with the asp.net forum available such as to see who is online or statistics? Are images allowed in posts? Will the software only work with SQL Server and not MS access?I would be integrating the boards into the site www.mtecinc.com instead of popping up a new window like the existing board uses so hopefully that wont be a problem. Thanks for your help and time.Michael Kropko

Hi Michael, Thank you for your post. I've answered your questions below. If you require any further information please don't hesitate to contact support@instantasp.co.uk Unfortunately this is no ability to view posts from the last 7, 14, 30 days. This is a great suggestion for future revisions and will certainly feature in an update. Users cannot edit, modify or remove posts - once live any changes must be carried out using enterprise manager. Messages will always stay active - you could periodically remove old posts. Online statistics is again on the hit list for future versions. The forums are only provided with a SQL server backend, Microsoft Access cannot support the super quick stored procedures Hope that helps - if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me direct on support@instantasp.co.uk

Thanks for your reply. I really like your software but the people who i am designing the message forums for really need those two options I mentioned about viewing posts from the last so many days and being able to edit a post once it has been created. Hopefully you guys will be able to integrate those features soon before I have to finally decide on a forum to buy. Everything else seems great. Do you have any idea on a timeline to your next revision? Thanks, Mike Kropko kropko.1@osu.edu

Hi Mike, I'm hoping soon rather than later for the next release - just adding the finishing touches to our new product. I have so many ideas for the forums i may just release minor revisions to at least start offering new features. If you sign up to our newsletter you will be informed when a new version is available.
 Kindest Regards,

Hi Ryan, I like the new version 1.6 you just released but a lot of the features my client really needs were still not included. I was just wondering if it would be a while before these options were included such as the ability to view messages from the last 24 hours, last 3 days, last 7 days, etc… or being to edit a post or viewing posts from ascending to descending. Also is there an admin to changes things without manually editing the sql database? Thanks a lot and keep up the great work. Mike

Hi Michael, Thank you for your post, I'm very pleased you like the new version. Please be assured I'm working hard to add the features you mentioned. InstantForum.NET is my current top priority. I cannot provide a date for the next release however your suggestions will certainly feature in any forthcoming updates. I will look into adding the view messages from last 24 hours, 3 days etc quickly as this should not take long. The edit posts feature will be available with v2 along with full administration and moderation features. I'll post more information on the web site once further versions are available. Please feel free to post any more suggestions, i'm always open to user feedback
 Kindest Regards,

Hi Michael, Just to let you know most of the features you suggested have now been added to version 2.0. At present there is no information for v2.0 online but it is available for purchase. I will be adding more information to our product pages very shortly.
 Kindest Regards,
