How about only displaying particular forums based on the logged in user's role?  Basically, each forum upon creation can be assigned a "public forum" setting or a "role based" setting.  This way, you can create private forums that are only accessible to certain roles (like moderators for example).

Example: You have multiple customers for which you want to create a forum for each, but you don't want all the current customers' forums visible to everyone.

Of course, this would only work if you can create/assign roles easily to each user (is this is already available?).  I have to agree with Michael, your software seems to be the best available on the market right now! (at least easiest to implement - very tempted to purchase right now... =)

This is another great suggestion - tbh this is how i've always wanted the forums to function but time constants prevented this. I'm currently in the process of converting the forums to a true VisualStudio.NET project. Once this change has been implemented i will look into the possibility of adding this functionality.
