I have setup the instantforum34 on my windows 2003 server but when i edit the web.cfg file where it says <add key="InstantForum_SMTPServer" value=""/> i put in my smtp server ip followed by port something like this 10.0.0.10:25

also on the email setting - <!-- Email address for application email notifications -->
<add key="InstantForum_EmailAddress" value=""/> i put in the email address that is forums@blahblah.net and im getting errors when users try to register it says the email confirmation has been sent but no mail arrives ?

any ideas ?

It is normal to see the smtp server set to something like "mail.yourdomain.com" rather than your IP address equivalent - perhaps that would work?

Without this right the users won't get emails.

I think there is a test smpt setting in 3.4 so try that out - or register yourself and see if you get the email.

Your email address must be one connected to your domain or it can cause problems.. others may argue with me here though.

Cheers.

Liam

Ah no sorry m8, it seems that the email still isn't working and to make things worse the login button after u put in your email address and password you click login button and nothing happens, so i cant even login to manage accounts at the moment.

Is there an indepth readme somewhere ? i tried the one that came with the software but to no avail, maybe its because im not a wiz on asp but i cant make no sense out of it.

Thanks in advance
