| Were you doing something when the error comes up? for example, sending out emails?

Nothing administratively. In fact, sometimes there haven't even been posts made, just browsing.

| I'm not going to say it isn't InstantForum causing your memory problem, because I don't know and it could be... but just wanted to throw out an experience that I once was having... I was receiving this exception often, with a website of mine... We came to find out that another persons web application on the hosted "shared" server was sucking memory like crazy... Once this was resolved it was good to go. I realize this really has little to do with your situation, but this topic just brought back those memories...

| While I certainly don't claim to be an expert in IIS, I must say that Bare may be pretty close with his story. I'm assuming that you are on a shared server since your hosting company had to do the reset. So the fact that I believe you are the first one to report this at any test level (beta, rc, etc), combined with the fact that you weren't really doing anything at the time, would lead me to believe that at a minimum the problem is caused by some setting on your webserver. Of course the more likely scenario is some other application running on a shared server (not your app) has the memory leak and is causing problems with the worker process. Do you know if this server hosts other forums? Just thinking maybe the hosting company set all apps of the same kind to use the same app pools/resources, etc. Any thats just my thoughts, but if there is any other information at all you can provide (web server specs, settings) that might help in figuring it out. Maybe get the hosting company to give you some actual log files, etc.

We host over 15 different .NET websites through them, and no others are experiencing the same problem. However, in light of your guys' input, I will try to follow up with them further to investigate. It sounds like no one else using RC1 is experiencing this problem?

| It would definitely be something to pursue, since no one else has reported the issue. I have multiple sites at my hosting company and I was only having the issue with 1 of them as well... It turned out that my other sites were housed on different servers... The memory leak server was were my problem app was located... Please keep us informed of your progress... I'm very intersted in this... I know that tweakxp.com is running RC1 and they have a very active board with many members... I would assume they would be experiencing the same issue??? although I'm sure they have a dedicated server. Keep in touch.. and good luck

Hmm.... our host has yet to send any additional information, even after five e-mails. But mysteriously, we have yet to have the error show up again. Coincidence? I'll keep you posted if we experience any further problems.

Ok, scratch that, it's still happening. I finally got a response from our host after scratching and clawing my way up the support chain.
We have now also moved this site to its own app pool and have set its auto recycle to 120 minutes. Web server specs: - Dual xeon 3.06 - 2 GB Ram - Scsi Raid 5 Hardware: 205 Gig Storage Space - Application pool has default settings | | | |
