Hi Mike,

This is currently not possible with version 2.0. This is a good suggestion i'll see if i can fit this into a minor release. Do you have any suggestions on the prefered format. Excel, CSV, etc etc

Ryan,

I think that HTML might be best.  The reason for this is so you can keep the flow of the thread. One reason for the exporting of threads is that some/most government agencies have to take in to account a type of Public Information Act.  Or companies might need to save a thread as a result of a lawsuit.  That type of thing.

Thanks,

Mike

I think CSV would be a great option. I've currently scoped (for a government client) the creation of a SQL script to export discussion topics and polls. However, to have it integrated into the forum would be highly beneficial.

any idea on when this "might" be done, if at all?

furthermore, I'd be interested in being quoted on the cost of development for such a feature for our installation of your product.

re: html saving
isn't this redundant as the page is already in html. thus allowing you to save it directly from the browser, or even copy and paste into a word doc. going to CSV allows the proper analysis of data and statistical reporting with greater ease and the ability to share this data across multiple applications.

Hi Newflavour, as Ryan mentioned this isnt currently possible in 2.0, and it's not something i'd like to just jam in to the release at the last minute. My thoughts are that saving out to XML, and then having XSL translations available for parsing into: Plain Text, Rich Text and HTML, to allow different views of the saved thread, whilst the data remains the same always. It just makes things alot easier. I would imagine this to be in a minor release after 2.0
