| I have several users that are reporting issues with the carriage return when I had the HTML options disabled. I had them take screenshots of the reply window before and after posting, and sure enough the carriage returns disappear when they hit post. This stopped happening when I turned the HTML features back on. Just a little FYI. Thanks!

AlvistChicago (6/7/2005) I have several users that are reporting issues with the carriage return when I had the HTML options disabled. I had them take screenshots of the reply window before and after posting, and sure enough the carriage returns disappear when they hit post. This stopped happening when I turned the HTML features back on. Just a little FYI. Thanks!I understand your problem, the solution in your case is to create an IFCode for carriage return like [br]. In fact, when you disable HTML you are disabling the formatting of the message and the only way to format it is using IFCode. This way you'll be sure that nobody will post any javascript message that could disturb your users and still be able to emulate carriage returns.

Perhaps I don't understand: Does this forum do that already? I have no HTML options, yet I just hit "Enter" and it adds a carriage return behind the scenes. When I have the HTML option disabled in my own instance, no such luck. Thanks!

| Hi Tim, Many thanks for your comments. If HTML is disabled hitting carriage return within posts should certainly add a line break both within the editor and when viewing the message. This may be a possible bug. I'll confirm further once investigated fully.

Fantastic. I just want to add again how impressed I am with the software overall. The development practices you have in place for this software are at the very top of their class. The software shows it.
