Hi,

I uploaded all the files (InstantKB .NET) and SQL Scripts to the server but unfortunately I'm unable to add/edit/manage articles. When I click Create New Article link from the admin section, I'm getting the following error message

An unexpected error occurred within the application. If your the administrator of this site please contact InstantASP Ltd and provide your "ExceptionLog.config" file to assist with determining the cause of this problem. You can click here to go back to the knowledge base home page.

When I view the ExceptionLog.config file, I'm unable to see any data on it. It is empty. I'm unable to determine the cause of this problem. All other things are functioning properly except the add/manage article thing.

Please help

Regards- Anand N - Microsoft MVP

Hi,

The problem has been fixed. I performed a clean installation from the beginning and the site works fine.

Hi, we upgraded from v1.1 to v1.3 a few months ago - and have been having the same problem as above - not able to add/ modify articles. Also nothing is left in the ExceptionLog.config

I have downloaded the database and files from the webserver onto a local development server and it runs perfectly locally. I Reuploaded the files and tables / stored procedures its in the same state. It seems to me the files and database are fine -there's some webserver configuration problem at fault? I suspect the WYSIWYG editor is the problem but Im guessing.

Any help would be appreciated - we dont want to do a clean install as we have existing content and fear loosing that.

(ps the site is www.fortherecord.com/instantkb - v1.3 was ordered by mdarcy@ftr.com.au)

Kind regards

Dylan
