I am loving the changes, can't wait to get my hands on this update. Ryan, do you think you can add in my tip about uploading avatars? On my forum I had to generate some random numbers/chars and append them to the avatar name so people could upload their avatars without confliction of them existing. Thanks!

Hello Ryan,

I don't know if this is going to be addressed but one feature that I would find benificial is a new posts since last on type thing.  This way, if I have been away for a few days I will not miss any posts.  If I am not mistaken, as it stands InstantForums will only have a thread marked as being posted "Today" or "Yesterday".

If you mark posts since last viewed then this will enable people to see at the root if there is a new post or not. I hope this is understandable, I know it is a little jumbled but you should be used to my posts by now.

Thanks,

Mike

Ryan,

A followup to my last post.  As soon as someone reads a message the "New" mark is removed from the thread and the forum.  That way if someone else posts (Say it is the same person as before) they will know it is newer than the earlier post.

Mike

EDIT: Just wanted to check if an edit needed to be approved prior to posting it on a moderated board?

Ryan,  Another post

Is there anyway to edit a quote?  For instance, if I quote your first message (Which is a little longer than should be used in a quote) can I delete portions of the quote?  Or if I am only replying to post and only want to reference one point in the post.  As it stands I would have to quote the whole post.

Mike

Hi Mike,

Thank you for the suggestions. The edit feature within a moderated forum certainly should go through the moderation process. I will look into this feature for version 2.2. The new icon will also act as suggested in version 2.2.

Thanks to Triniti and Michael for your feedback. This is greatly appreciated

Ryan,

Another feature request / suggestion.

When a thread hits the threshold to start another page, would it be possible to have a link to page 2, 3, 4, etc next to the link to the thread itself?  This way you don't have to open the first page and then browse to the second page to see the new posts.

Thanks

Mike
