Hi,

Great job with this forum.

I'm wondering...  When the forum pages load, they are often in distorted dimensions until all of the images, etc. load.  Is it possible to specifiy the dimensions of the bitmaps, headers, etc., so that all the resizing that takes place when the pages load isn't necessary?  This might be too much work to be worthwhile, but I just thought I would throw it out there.

Thanks!

I'll second that!  I always specify the width and height of my images in HTML, and try to specify the width of my tables and columns.

I know that you can't always do it (for example when you want the table to "stretch"), but the user experience is much better when the content is not jumping around after the HTML has been downloaded.

I would disagree (in a sense)... If you would used fixed column widths you'd have to consider the users with the lowest screen resolution... So, to be safe you'd have to make your entire forum fit into a 800X600 resolution (maybe 1024X768)...

This would also not allow it to shrink below this minimum resolution...

This would also not allow some one with high resolution to use all of the screen real-estate that they have paid for

In either case, we all have our preferences... Fortunately, You have complete control over these objects... All you have to do is edit the controls within your skin
