I would like to add a section on the home page that displays continously updating list of newly added posts. How can I do it using RSS? Is it possible?

FYI, I am very new to RSS.

I forgot to ask:

What kind of code will I add to the home page (default.ascx)? HTML? JavaScript? ASP?

I noticed that rss fields are hard-coded in rssfeed.vb. Any plans to to make them XML driven? E.g. I don't want the description to be part of the feed and in order to disable it I have to modify the VB code and recompile the whole thing (along with future upgrade problems).

I am interested in this also.  In our last website, which used  vBulletin as the forum software package, we had a section of the home page devoted to the forum.  This time we want to have a summary of (say) the five most recent posts showing forum category date and time and poster name.

Could RSS be an easier way to do it?

Incidentally, I have been using Novobot as my newsfeed software.  It accepts feeds from such places as BBC News but it does not appear to recognise the content from the new forum.

Is there a particular newsreader/aggregator that does?

You guys need to check out Bare's site, he's done probably exactly what you guys want to accomplish.  I can't remember if he used RSS or the API, but the end result is the same.

Maybe this will work as a bump, but I've been searching for a method to show text from the Forum showing the latest Topic posted under with a link to that thread.

All the threads with RSS feed seem to be dead with no replies. Since some of them are old now I'm hoping someone figured it out.

I'd like to make a link on my websites main page showing the last activity on the forum.

thanks in advance.
