| Since I'm not making progress working with the support staff, I'd like to open a discussion with the community to see if any can halp. I have v4.1.3 using asp.net 2.0 and SQL Server 2005. I don't have a developer version so I can't make changes to the code. Here are my issues: 1) Advance Search button does not work: Search : Advance Search, then you get this http://www.martialweb.com/forums/Search1-2-1.aspx 2) Spelling button does not work. Displays a javascript error. Post a new topic here http://www.martialweb.com/forums/Forum57-1.aspx . type anything then click on Spell Check. If you have any ideas on how to tackle any of these issues, please let me know. Thank you.

| My first guess would be you have something missing/messed up with your Skin. I noticed http://www.martialweb.com/forums/Skins/MartialWeb/Images/Folder_NewPosts.gif so you renamed Classic to MartialWeb? I also see that I couldn't pull up any images from the "Classic" skin folder. Did you delete that folder or rename it to MartialWeb? I would try installing the original Classic Skin folder and see what happens. I've noticed on my site when I have a problem with say "SkinX" it'll automatically try to use the template file in the "Classic" Skin. The JavaScript thang is probably down to you having your forum in the "/forums/" sub directory. Not sure how to fix that though as mine is set up in web root. Oh.. and one problem I found was if you set ALL groups to not be searchable it does screw up the advanced search but I seem to remember I could see the Advanced Search page.. I just couldn't run a search. I've got the developer version so I've tweaked that search up to not even show the roles drop down menu as I want them to be searchable but my users have no business seeing the various roles/groups I set up.

I had this problem too with my skin which was based on the new Liquid Violet skin. There is a bug in the released version of that skin - if you set your skin in this forum to Liquid Violet you will get the same problem!
Try replacing Skins/Skinname/Controls/SearchOptions.ascx with the one from the default skin.

Mark Christianson (2/5/2006) Suck Scott but thanks for posting here... myself and a couple others like Bare and Jimmy will likely take a look at this and see what we can figure out to help you.Mark, thanks. I'd really appreciate that. Cradz, as for the skin...I created a new folder MartialWeb, copied all items from Classic, and removed the Classic folder. I think I had problems renaming it. I'll play around by putting the Classic back to see if that resolves it. Thanks for the feedback

| Hi, I had the same SPELL CHECK problems....I know the solution! The problem is you are using .Net 2.x...You need to switch this (In IIS) to use .Net 1.1 - then spell check will work as expected... This is a huge problem if you have other apps that require .Net 2.x on the same server - but for me, that was not the case. The support team is aware of this problem (in my ticket), and hopefully will have it fixed for next release. Hope that helps! Thanks!

| Hi Scott, Hope your very well. Just wanted to follow up really to confirm a few things and apologize for any delay investigating these issues. With regards to issue one I sent you a response via the ticketing system. This appears to not be a problem with the forum but more a problem within the skin file. It appears a server control may have been removed from a user control that is still referenced in the code-behind. I'll chase your ticket and see where we are with this. With regards to issue two i've not had a chance to fully test this as yet. If it appears as such to be an issue with the forum running on .NET v2.0 we will certainly address this for the next minor v4.1.4 release expected within the coming weeks. I'll certainly try to update this post once we confirm the behaviour for issue two. I'll track your ticket with regards to your advanced search issue and check the status.
 Kindest Regards,
Ryan Healey Director / Developer
