Storage Limit for Attachments

How do I modify the storage limit for attachments? I need it to be far larger than the default 50MB but there is no field in the admin CP that deals with this.

Hi David,

Hope your very well. You can modify the maximum space available for attachments within the staff permission sets. You'll need to login to your Admin CP, click Staff (in the navigation bar running along the top), then click "Staff Permissions.

You should see one default permission set for all staff members. If you click the name of the permission set this will take you to the general options for that permission set. Towards the bottom of this screen you'll see an option called "ATtachment Space".

I've attached a screen grab here to show the option below. I hope this helps.

Thanks Ryan. :) That's what I was looking for.

Hi Ryan,

On the same subject, is there any chance of making the attachament storage to unlimited? the limit is 1gig and I will surely need more than that....

Best,

Cristobal

Hi, This was a great article. I just was not looking in the correct place for this setting.

Is there anyway to make it unlimited?

Hello - I am wondering two things on this issue:  1.  Does this limit apply if attachments are stored within the SQL database, or just if they are in a separate file system?
2. If it applies when they are within SQL, I would also say this needs to be expanded as we may well max it out.  Please respond.

And just to clarify - is this attachment space value a limit for individual file upload size or for the total amount of space in the db that can hold all attachments?  Judging from this post

https://community.instantasp.co.uk/14153/evaluation-questions?Keywords=attachment%20space

it appears there is not a limitation on having 50,000 articles with attachments, which leads me to believe this is a per user upload setting, but I am not sure.  Can anyone provide the enlightenment?

For free (personal) users, we offer unlimited storage (not based on number of emails) but it is bound by the per day usage
quota and for Business users, the storage limit is based on the pricing model and the per day quota based on the usage pattern.
Below mentioned details are per day quota for your account (free users).

Incoming mail box size: 250MB/Day (Including Attachments).
Incoming count           : No specific counts/Day.

Outgoing Mail box size:  300MB/Day (Including Attachments)
Outgoing count           :  250 mail/Day.
