Configuration issue

Hi all.  For the life of me, I can't figure out how to change the max file size for uploading files.  Can someone tell me where to change this???

It's in the Permission Sets.  Each Permisson Set (Forum Members, Moderators, etc) has it's own setting for the max.

Maybe I have a different version then you or something, but it's not there.  I'm using InstantKB version 2.0.6.  I went to the Admin CP, Manage Members, Member Permissions, and edited the permissions for my group (Administrators) for both "General" and each tab...none of them have a max upload size.

I also checked the Staff Permissions, which has an Attachment Space setting, but that's set at 1024MB already (and this isn't really an attachment anyway.  I'm trying to embed a video).

Oh geez, my bad.  I pulled this topic from "Recent Posts" and didn't recognize it was a KB sorry.

Hi Brian,

Hope your very well. Great question. Sorry it's taken me so long to respond here.

There are a few settings to adjust if you wish to upload large files. These can be found within the InstantKB.NET web.config file.

You should set the application settings below...

<add key="InstantASP_HttpMaxRequestLength" value="20480"/>

By default this is 20mb. You'll need to add the size in kilobytes here. For example 100mb is 102400KB. Also you should modify the maxrequestlength attrinute in the httpruntime element as shown below...

<httpRuntime maxRequestLength="30720"/>

Again your value here should be in kilobtyes.

The InstantASP_HttpMaxRequestLength application setting is required to increase the upload size within the various WYSIWYG editor dialogs. For example when uploading images.

The httpruntime element modification is required for the upload of attachments.

I hope this information helps Brian. Please don't hesitate to respond if we can assist further. I should hopefully respond more promptly next ime.

P.S. Thank you Al for trying to assist.
Kindest Regards,

Ryan Healey
