AJAX Spinners, But nothing loads?

InstantForum Problem
This forum works fine:

https://www.freeaspnetcart.com/Forum5.aspx

This one doesn't seem to load:

https://www.freeaspnetcart.com/Forum4.aspx

I'm wondering what the difference between the two is. The second has more posts, but only about 135 or so in total, so not really pushing the envelope compared to some sites running IF.

Everything was fine, only noticed this problem this morning. No changes to the code or settings for months, so it's not something that was caused by tinkering on our part.

Any help appreciated.

InstantForum Problem

Were any M$ updates applied, or is there anything on the server using more memory than normal? Did you try restarting the MSSearch service?

Hi Eddy, I actually have a ticket open on this so I think they will maybe send me updated DLLs for 2010-4. We restarted the server this morning as it had some windows updates asking for a restart. The same problem persists after the restart though. All other sites seem to run fine, as do other pages on this site. It's just that one forum that seems to be a problem.

Is there any way to revert the forum page (or maybe everything if necessary) to be less AJAXy, as a temporary measure, until this can be sorted?

Hey Flackster,

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I'm having a similar one (one forum gets stuck while loading, but the rest are fine) that is driving me crazy.

Hi All,

Forgive me for reviving an old topic but I wanted to update this post for others who may be having this problem with InstantForum 2010.

This was an issue that effected some later versions of InstantForum 2010. This was due to an encoding issues with the data returned from the JSON web services if the post contained certain characters. If you see infinite loading spinners with InstantForum 2010 please see this post.

This issue should not effect InstantForum 2012 or 2013. We've also improved the client side error handling in 2013 so if a problem like this ever happens again you will see a more descriptive message allowing us to troubleshoot and offer an update if needed more quickly.
