I have a few questions. I hope you can help.

1. When I disable tags in backend I still see the tag option when creating post ?
Is this a known bug

2. once I've added a description to a forum or category I can't remove it. i.e. I delete the text, click save and it re-appears
Is this a known bug

3. I can't see an option for disabling registration - does such an option exist ?

4. When browsing https://docs.instantasp.co.uk I'm seeing lots of blank pages - is the documentation not complete or is this en error my end ?

Thanks in advance :)
InstantForum Question

Hi Sharesland,

Thank you for taking the time to post. I'm sorry for my delay responding. I hope your well. I've attempted to assist with your questions below. If I can assist further please don't hesitate to respond.

1. When I disable tags in backend I still see the tag option when creating post ?Is this a known bug
Yes. I'm sorry about this. This is a bug that will of course be resolved in our next release.

To resolve this right now please follow the instructions below...

1. Download the ZIP file attached below. This contains an updated InstantASP.InstantForum.UI.dll for InstantForum 2013-2. Copy the enclosed InstantASP.InstantForum.UI.dll into your 2013-2 /bin folder. This will resolve the problem on the main post page however you will still see the tags within the quick post panel.
2. Next open Skins/{YourSkinName}/Controls/QuickPostControl.ascx. Locate the following line...

<div class="fl" style="margin-top: 16px;">
<InstantASP:Label Text="PostControl_TagsDescription" Visible="false" id="lblTags2" runat="server" />

Change to

<div class="fl" id="trTags" runat="server" style="margin-top: 16px;">
<InstantASP:Label Text="PostControl_TagsDescription" Visible="false" id="lblTags2" runat="server" />

2. once I've added a description to a forum or category I can't remove it. i.e. I delete the text, click save and it re-appearsIs this a known bug

The attached ZIP file also contains a core.js file. Please copy this into your /js/ folder and overwrite the existing core.js file. This will resolve this problem.3. I can't see an option for disabling registration - does such an option exist ?

We don't have an option for this currently. You can hide the registration links and add some code to your web.config to stop users accessing this page directly. Please follow the steps below for InstantForum 2013...

1. Open Skiuns/{YourSkinName}/MasterPage.master

Locate the following code...
<li><InstantASP:HyperLink id="hypRegister" Runat="Server"/></li>
<li><InstantASP:Label Text="Or" id="lblOr" runat="Server"/></li>

Change to...

<li runat="server" visible="false"><InstantASP:HyperLink id="hypRegister" Runat="Server"/></li>
<li runat="server" visible="false"><li><InstantASP:Label Text="Or" id="lblOr" runat="Server"/></li>

4. When browsing https://docs.instantasp.co.uk I'm seeing lots of blank pages - is the documentation not complete or is this en error my end ? - See more at: https://community.instantasp.co.uk/18450/Some-questions#sthash.kdku9TPi.dpuf

Our documentation is i'm afriad not 100% complete yet. We have lots of guidance for installation & configuration but we are lacking end user guides. Our documentation area is due for a overhaul and we'll be finally completing this very soon. If there are any questions not converted in our documentation please don't hesitate to espond here or email me directly on ryan@instantasp.co.uk

I hope this answers help resolve the problems. The updates here will of course be included in the next update. If I can assist further please don't hesitate to respond.
