Member groups don't revert back when email address is updated?

InstantForum Suggestion
In InstantForum 2013-2 if a member updates their email address and you require them to confirm the change then their Primary Member Group will be reset to Forum Member once they use the confirmation link from the email. I personally experienced this on a clean install for the admin account.

Hi Eagle,

Great suggestion. I've made a note to keep track of the users previous primary member group and place the user back into this member group once the email is confirmed again. This change should be made within the next release or two.

At the moment this works like so. If a user updates there email address and you have the "Confirmation On Email Update?" open set to Yes within the Admin CP > Settings > Login &Registration page the user will be placed into the member group set within the "Default Awaiting Approval Group:" drop down list set on the Admin CP > Settings > Login & Registration page. Once the user clicks the unique link within the confirmation email. Once the user clicks the unique link they will be placed into the role set within the "Default Confirmed Member Group" drop down list set on the Admin CP > Settings > Login & Registration page.

I would really hope you would fix this in the next release and not later down the road. In a large site that could have lots of members in different groups (like moderators, assistant-admins, etc.) having to change this by hand will become problematic especially if the only admin of the board takes a hands off approach to the system. I would completely agree with how it currently puts them in the awaiting activation group though.

A quality product should never be rushed !  :)
